Food for Community Development (FFCD) programme 2008 by ARM & CASA, Kolkata
FFCD programme is in implementation in 25 villages of Baliapal Block benefiting 40,000 people aimed at employment generation and food security provision.
Construction and repairing of river embankment (17.18 Kms) in progress along with renovation of 1700 fts. irrigation canal. More than 1500 people working as a labourer in the projects earning 7500 Kgs, of rice every day and handling 7500 Cft. Of earth work.This FFCD joint venture by CASA & ARM is slated to save 25 villages from flood havoc ,provide village road communication to 40,000 people as well as irrigate 20 hectors of crop land. The FFCD project work has been frequently supervised by prominent CASA Officials from Delhi & Kolkata at Project sites in North Balasore Visitors from CASA Head Office New Delhi Mr. Francis Joseph Project Officer. Visitors from CASA Zonal Office Kolkata Mr. Aloke Kumar Ghosh,Additional Emergency Officer & Mr. Sapan Kumar Mandal,Field Officer and other Officials from CASA Bhubaneswar office.
A pioneering study on environmental affects of CASA supported FFCD projects has been conducted at Baliapal by Mr. Kashinath Jena,Development Consultant,Bhubaneswar including soil testing,stakeholders interaction as well as positive & negative impact of the projects.
